STEP 1: SHIFT YOUR MINDSET
Identify the emotional state or feeling that you would like to experience. For
example, perhaps you feel anxious and would like to feel a sense of calm.
STEP 2: CONNECT WITH YOUR BODY
Focus your attention on your heart and imagine breathing in and out through
this area of your body.
STEP 3: BREATHE
Slow and quiet your breath attempting to make your exhalations slightly
longer than your inhalations.
STEP 4: SHIFT YOUR EMOTIONS
Try to re-experience a positive feeling you have for something or someone.
For example, the feeling you have when you are with someone you love,
when you are in a special place, or how you felt after a particular

Breathe this positive feeling in and out through your heart for 3 minutes.
Then reflect on if and how your stress response has shifted.
