I am a naturopathic physician, artist, mother, feminist, environmentalist, and lover of sleeping under the stars.

Contributing to the empowerment of women is my Why. I believe when women are empowered to improve their health they can then unlock their full potential and act on their life’s purpose. And, a life driven by purpose and fueled by passion can change the world.

Supporting your desire to live a creative and impactful life has driven my education and training choices.

I grew up in Georgia and Wisconsin and received a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary Studies and Ecology with an emphasis in Biological Illustration from Iowa State University. After working for several years in wildlife research and medicine, I returned to school and received my doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University.

As a doctoral student I coordinated a free clinic for low income people in downtown Seattle’s transitional housing. I also had the opportunity to volunteer at a free clinic providing care to impoverished Mayan women and children in Panajachel, Guatemala. I then completed a 2 year residency in Naturopathic Family Medicine at West Seattle Natural Medicine in Seattle, Washington.

I served on the board of the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians prior to relocating to Bend, Oregon in 2017. I am a member of the Oregon Association of Naturopathic Physicians, a certified HeartMath biofeedback provider, and a member of the American Psychological Association Society for the Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity and the Arts. I am also a painter and you can view my work at emilylivengood.com.
